Vietnam gives top priority to developing relations with China

Vietnam has always taken developing relations with China as a strategic choice and top priority in its foreign policy, Vietnamese President Surin Lin said during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo in Hanoi on Wednesday.

 

Since the beginning of this year, various departments and localities of the two sides have actively implemented the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties, steadily promoted practical cooperation in various fields, and made positive progress in building a Vietnam-China community of shared future with strategic significance.

 

Su Lin said that the current international and regional situation is undergoing profound and complex changes, and the two sides need more than ever to strengthen unity and cooperation and safeguard common strategic interests. Vietnam is willing to work with China to maintain close high-level exchanges, promote the upgrading of cooperation in various fields, speed up cross-border railway and other infrastructure connectivity, strengthen publicity of traditional friendship, better manage differences and push for steady and long-term development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China.

 

Last year, top leaders of the two parties jointly announced the building of a China-Vietnam community of shared future with strategic significance, setting a new orientation for China-Vietnam relations in the new era. China firmly supports Vietnam in maintaining stability and accelerating development, and stands ready to work with Vietnam to adhere to the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties, jointly follow the path of socialism suited to each other's national conditions and the path of modernization with its own characteristics, safeguard the common strategic interests of the two sides, push forward the building of a strategic China-Vietnam community of shared future, and seek happiness for the two peoples. To make greater contribution to the cause of peace, development and progress of mankind.
