China's e-commerce logistics index hit a six-year high in May

The reporter learned from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing on June 5 that China's e-commerce logistics index rebounded for three consecutive months, and the data in May hit a new high of nearly six years. China's e-commerce logistics index in May was 113.9 points, up 0.7 points from the previous month. Among the sub-indexes, the total business volume index, rural business volume index, logistics timeliness index, fulfillment rate index, satisfaction rate index and load rate index have increased, while the inventory turnover index, personnel index and cost index have decreased.

 

Specifically, the total business volume index of e-commerce logistics continued to rise. In May, the total business volume index of e-commerce logistics was 129.8 points, up 2.1 points from the previous month. By region, the total business volume index of all regions in the country has increased, the eastern region has increased the most, and the central region has exceeded the national average level.

 

Rural e-commerce logistics business volume index continues to rise. In May, the rural e-commerce logistics business volume index was 129.7 points, up 1.8 points from the previous month. By region, the total business volume index of all regions in the country has increased, the western region has the largest increase, and the central region has exceeded the national average level.

 

The logistics timeliness index has steadily increased, and the performance rate, load rate and satisfaction rate index have continued to rise. In May, the logistics timeliness index was 101.9 points, up 0.7 points from the previous month, rising for three consecutive months. The fulfillment rate, load rate and satisfaction rate rose by 0.9, 0.2 and 0.4 points respectively, and the e-commerce logistics market continued to maintain a good situation of volume and quality improvement.

 

The inventory turnover index continued to fall and the cost index continued to decline. In May, affected by the increase in enterprise inventory, the inventory turnover index fell 0.6 points from the previous month. The cost index fell 0.6 points from the previous month, after four consecutive months of decline, the cost level of enterprises has been the same as last year, but there is still room to fall.

 

China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing believes that in May, the supply and demand of e-commerce logistics continued to maintain a good operating trend, and the total index of e-commerce logistics rose for three consecutive months. With the approach of the "618" mid-year online shopping promotion, major mainstream e-commerce platforms have warmed up in advance, promoting the rise of e-commerce business volume. Overall, in May, e-commerce logistics continued to improve steadily, and the total index of e-commerce logistics hit a new high of nearly 6 years. In the later stage, with the implementation of the resident durable consumer goods replacement policy, online shopping activities continue to be active, and the demand for e-commerce logistics will maintain steady growth.
