  • Sales of Sanitary Ware Industry in Yiwu Market Rebound

  •     The sanitary ware industry of Yiwu Market is mainly located in 3F and 4F of District II in the International Trade Mart, with 216 booths with 263 business entities mainly dealing with faucets, showers, bathroom cabinets, bathtubs, toilets, shower sets and etc.. About 90% of the products are exported to the Middle East, Africa and southeast Asia.
        After three consecutive months of decreasing, the sales of sanitary ware industry have rebounded in September, and the overall sales are rising slightly.  
        Foreign trade has shown a upward trend. Sales of bathroom cabinets, basins, shower rooms and other sanitary products rise slightly. Benefited by the growing demands for home accessories, sales of toilets, bathtubs, hand washing tanks and other products also witness a modest growth. Sales of traditional bathroom such as ceramic toilets, faucets, floor drains and sinks remain stable. Foreign orders for medium and high-end products such as surf massage acrylic bathtubs, water-saving silent toilets, water ionizer and anion faucet are increasing. Toilets, faucets, bathtubs and other products with attractive prices and qualities are mainly exported to the Middle East and Latin America.  
        The upgrading of products assists the industry transformation. Traditional ceramic sanitary products have reached the peak of competition, the attraction of innovation in product appearance has gradually decreased, and innovation in product function has been paid more and more attention by manufacturers. Taking the new bathroom cabinet in the market for example, it replaces the fixed wooden board with the drawer type, making full use of the space, and greatly improving the customer experience. In respect to materials, traditional sanitary products are mostly made of ceramic, hardware, plastic and other similar materials, but in this year, in consideration to the relatively humid environment where sanitary products are used, manufacturers begin to use nano-antibacterial materials, thus providing people with a healthier lifestyle. The market share of high-end intelligent sanitary products has increased, and intelligent design is adopted for products such as flush toilet, bathtub, faucet, and shower room. In addition, intelligent products in this year pay more attention to the appearance and humanization design, thus making themselves being integrated into life. As influenced by market demands, the development of intelligent bathroom has been accelerating in recent years, and it is expected that the next 3-5 years may become a rapid development period of intelligent bathroom.
